What you'll need
Peach, Please! Your Tea Over Ice
Your everyday cuppa has bougie plans.
Brew it strong, add peach juice, a squeeze of lemon and plenty of ice, and you’ve got a fruity little refresh that’s pleasingly easy to make.
Try it with Earl Great, The Full English or All Day English. Three different takes on the same peachy idea.
How to make it
-
Brew your chosen tea in 150ml of freshly boiled water for the time recommended on the pack.
-
Strain the leaves and leave the tea to cool.
-
Fill a tall glass generously with ice.
-
Pour in the cooled tea, peach juice and a small squeeze of lemon.
-
Stir, taste and adjust. Add a little more peach juice for sweetness or another squeeze of lemon for a sharper finish.
-
Finish with peach slices or a lemon wedge, then find yourself a sunny spot. A comfortable chair will also do.
Which tea should I use?
That depends on what you fancy.
Earl Great brings fragrant bergamot and berry notes for a bright, fruity take. A good choice if you like your iced tea with a little citrus character.
The Full English gives you a bolder black-tea base that holds its own alongside the peach. Familiar cuppa, fresh outfit.
All Day English makes a lovely decaf version for later afternoons, easy evenings or whenever you fancy another glass.
Use more tea rather than brewing it for longer. You want enough flavour to stand up to the juice and melting ice, without an overly bitter finish.
Peach juice or peach nectar?
Either works. Peach nectar is usually thicker and sweeter, while juice and juice drinks vary between brands. Both deserve a place in your fridge for this.
Give the carton a shake before pouring and start with 75ml. You can always add a splash more once you’ve tasted your finished drink.
No fresh peaches? No problem. The garnish is a flourish, not homework.
Make it your moment
Pour a glass with lunch, take it into the garden or make a jug when friends come round. Simply multiply the ingredients, chill the tea and add the ice to each glass when you’re ready to serve.
For an easy evening version, reach for All Day English and let your usual cuppa clock off a little differently.
Proper tea, juicy peach and plenty of ice.
A little less mug. A little more ooh là là.
