What you'll need
Mint Choc Latte: Soothing Indulgence
Part creamy latte, part after-dinner mint and entirely acceptable to drink curled up on the sofa.
This indulgent mint chocolate tea latte infuses Blooming Soothe directly into warm milk before melting in real chocolate. The result is smooth, chocolatey and fresh with mint—comforting without becoming overly sweet or heavy.
Froth it, top it or drink it exactly as it is. Slippers strongly encouraged, but not compulsory.
How to make it
-
Pour the milk into a small saucepan and warm it gently over a low heat.
-
Once the milk is steaming, add the Blooming Soothe. Keep it at the gentlest simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally and making sure it doesn’t boil or catch on the bottom of the pan.
-
Strain the milk through a fine sieve, pressing the tea gently to release all that minty flavour.
-
Add the finely chopped chocolate to the hot infused milk and whisk until completely melted and smooth.
-
Taste before adding any extra sweetness. If it needs it, stir in a little maple syrup or sugar.
-
Froth the finished drink for a lighter, airier texture—or skip the froth and pour it straight into your favourite mug.
-
Finish with a dusting of cocoa or grated chocolate. If you’re feeling particularly committed to the moment, add whipped cream as well.
-
Take it somewhere comfortable and become temporarily unavailable.
Why infuse the tea in milk?
Simmering Blooming Soothe directly in milk creates a softer, creamier flavour than brewing it separately with water.
The gentle heat gives the mint time to infuse while the milk picks up the blend’s chocolatey notes. Eight minutes may feel unusually leisurely for a cup of tea, but this isn’t the brew you make while looking for your keys.
Keep the heat low and stir occasionally. Milk can scorch if ignored, and burnt is not one of the tasting notes we’re aiming for.
Use chopped chocolate - not chocolate chips
Choose a good-quality bar of milk or dark chocolate and chop it finely so it melts quickly and evenly.
Chocolate chips are designed to hold their shape during baking, which means they don’t always melt as smoothly. A chopped chocolate bar gives the latte a silkier texture and a richer, more luxurious finish.
Milk chocolate creates a sweeter, creamier drink. Dark chocolate gives you a deeper cocoa flavour and lets the mint come through more clearly.
For a dairy-free version, use your favourite plant milk with a suitable dairy-free chocolate.
Choose your milk
Whole dairy milk creates the richest, most rounded latte.
Oat milk is creamy with a gentle sweetness that works beautifully with chocolate.
Cashew milk has a smooth, mild flavour that lets the mint and cocoa stay centre stage.
Soya milk makes a full-bodied latte without adding too much sweetness.
Almond milk brings a lighter texture and an extra layer of nuttiness.
Coconut milk drink creates a creamy latte with a noticeable tropical twist. Use the pourable kind from a carton rather than thick tinned coconut milk.
Make it extra
A little finishing flourish turns this from a lovely drink into a full sofa-worthy event.
-
Froth it for a soft, café-style finish.
-
Add whipped cream for maximum indulgence.
